Apple Fest Kicks Off With Elder Day

Come to the Elder FriendlyŽ Certified Portland Nursery at 5050 SE Stark on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 10:30 a.m.- 4:00p.m., and kick off the annual Apple Festival on a special day set-aside for older adults, friends, and family. Enjoy sinking your teeth into 40 varieties of apples and pears, many cultivated especially for this event. Then take home a bag of apples to enjoy at your leisure as some of the proceeds will benefit Elders in Action's Volunteer Services.

Elders in Action is powered by the experience of trained volunteers, who work to solve problems, tackle important issues and help businesses and communities to better serve the older customer throughout Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties.

The Portland Nursery will offer special senior discounts, gardening activity stations, and special sales items that day. Staff and volunteers will be available to assist you with shopping.
