2008 Silver!
Celebrating Legendary People in the Portland Metropolitan Area
Elders in Action, where we believe the quality of life should never depend on age, is pleased to present the honorees for our biennial fundraising gala Silver!, on May 15, 2008 at 6pm at the Tiffany Center, 1410 SW Morrison St., Portland, OR 97205.
Silver! honors the lifetime achievements of some of Oregon's most amazing people and this year is no exception. We have selected 5 outstanding individuals to be feted at our gala and invite you to attend in support of their achievements and Elders in Action.
This year we will be honoring:
Gwyneth Gamble Booth, the Chair of the PGE foundation and First Citizen of Portland;
Jack Cain, former owner of the Portland Rockies and current Senior Advisor to the Portland Beavers Baseball Club
Dr. Joseph Matarazzo, founder of the OHSU Department of Medical Psychology;
Maynard Orme, President Emeritus of Oregon Public Broadcasting and current interim president of KBPS All Classical radio;
Receiving our honors as well as emceeing the event will be Darcelle XV, owner of Darcelle's Showplace and star performer who has been entertaining Portlanders for over 37 years.
Music will be provided by the Stolen Sweets, performing a wonderful program of music from the 1920's to the 1940's.
