Volunteer Time!
Get Involved with Elders in Action
The seasons are changing and Autumn will be here before any of us really know it. With vacations over, the kids are back in school, and the imminent return of the Oregon rain, you might find yourself thinking about doing something for your community.
Elders in Action would like to give you some options!
Personal Advocates: Provides individual assistance to people 60 and older experiencing problems with housing, healthcare, crime, abuse or fraud.
Community Safety Advocates: This new program is a collaborative effort joining neighborhoods, police and the community together to provide citizens with more access to information.
Elder Friendly Business Evaluators: Volunteers 60 or older evaluate local businesses for their accessibility and service to older customers.
Commission Members: Advocates with public officials to ensure that programs and services meet the needs of older adults. This position is limited to Multnomah County residents.
Trainings for volunteer positions begin in September, so don't delay!
