Join Us in Being a Part of the Solution

Elders in Action makes a powerful impact on the lives of older adults in our community each day.

Connection: With each and every one of the 3,561 people Elders in Action helped this year, there is a meaningful connection. Our volunteers and staff are passionate about their work and dedicated to helping some of our finest citizens remain as active, engaged and secure as possible.

Toward your future: Did you know there are many things you can do to grow into your older years happily and healthfully? The National Institute on Aging gathered these tips from interviews with people over 100 years old:

  • Don't focus on conflicts or mistakes from your past; stay optimistic and move on
  • Laugh and have a sense of humor
  • Live in the here and now, but share your life story
  • Eat right but splurge a little
  • Never stop learning!
Our Free Services Change Lives: We heard from 74 % more older adults this year who encountered problems with housing, identify theft, abuse, healthcare issues, billing problems and more where a helping hand made a critical difference between suffering and relief. Imagine if you were older, alone, in poor health or simply too embarrassed to ask for help. Elders in Action offers solutions, options, and resources to maintain independence and dignity.

Our Unique Program: provides one-on-one problem solving assistance with trained volunteers to ensure stability and well-being for people who sometimes need help advocating for themselves.

Our Volunteer Force Is Astounding: We walk our talk. 84% of our volunteers are age 60 and above, and 50% are over age 70! We don't stop there; 1% of our volunteer team is over age 90.

We are elders in action with thousands of years of combined experience!
Still, we need to recruit and train more volunteers to respond to the growing need in our community. And this costs time and dollars.
